Whitesville/Communal
Whitesville has named Rashell Pastore its Citizen of the Year for a long list of volunteer work she's balanced alongside motherhood and her career. Pastore coaches the cheerleading program at Whitesville Central School, helped revive the town's Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts programs, and leads youth t-ball and soccer. She also organizes charitable efforts benefiting the Ronald McDonald House and spearheads community traditions like the annual car show, an alumni basketball game, and Trunk or Treat, all while recently completing a Master of Education degree. Nominating committee member Cody Borden wrote that Pastore "devotes countless hours to activities and events that bring our town together" and serves as a role model for volunteerism in the small community.
