The Caneadea Zoning Board of Appeals held a public hearing at Caneadea Town Hall on a variance request from William and Mary Ellen Heitzenrater, who want to build a 12-by-35-foot two-story structure for boat and dry-goods storage on their Tate Road property. The application asks for relief from the town's setback rules governing distance from neighboring properties and roads, as well as its 20 percent cap on how much of a lot can be built upon. The board scheduled the hearing for 6:30 p.m. on January 14 to take public comment before deciding on the request. The notice was published under the town's standard legal-notice process for zoning matters.
